just reading thru round 6. (advanced pattern)
For ring, in diagram it says 4ds between joins to previous round . But it says 5 ds in written pattern.
Please specify ?

Should be 4 between the joins - off to update!

The advanced pattern also misses the whole part where you ch6-8+8+6.
And yeah I'll have some teeny tiny decorative picots now XD

I redid round 5 with all blue, and my cupping problems have decreased dramatically. Not gone though, so I might take some time to indeed block it at this point. I liked the look of it with both green and blue combined better, but I think I should not use green for chains at all anymore. Next round it's green rings :D

Updated file now available - thank you all so much for pointing out the problems!

@kersti I feel a bit bad for coming here in the morning, eagerly refreshing the mystery pattern page, checking out the new stuff and then immediately heading here to point out errors. So I'll just say right now that I'm loving what you're doing, and please keep it up! :D

Don't feel bad! Much better that me finding out problems when I'm not able to fix, I really appreciate it! Shows how important it is to have a good tech editor!

Sorry for being a pain Kirsti but should the instructions on the ring say to join to the 2nd and 3rd picots on the previous round chain and not the picots before and after the chain join? I've started round 6 using the 2nd and 3rd and it looks like the diagram. Loving this pattern so far, it's challenged me a bit as I've avoided anything with long chains so far but I find them a little easier now.

Love the spark of white !!!!

Is this doily in preparation of July 4th celebration ? It could well be, no ?

Grmpf.... can anyone help a newbee out a little? I had no problems with needle tatting another type of yarn, but somehow Lizbeth 20 and me are not yet friends. I use size 5 needle as described in the project, som what is wrong with my doily??? I also tried a smaller needle, but that got all very tight and ugly...

Almost absolute beginner...... alt-text

It looks like your tension is a little loose. Going down a needle size should have helped. Have you tried another Lizbeth #20 thread? I sometimes find that one Lizbeth thread doesn't tat as nicely as others.

It could seem obvious, but actually I was wondering if maybe the thread should be a bit loose to fill better. Now I restarted with another Lizbeth, and I do everything I can to make the tension as hard as possible. I still get some strange bulks, but it is better. I also feel that this Lizbeth is easier to work with. Maybe Lizbeth and me will be friends after all. Thank's for the push forward :) alt-text

Round 5 at the bottom of the ring it says 4ds but the picture says 5. So is it 4 or 5?

That was quick! How are the timings matching up for you?

I didn't actually time myself but I think it took about 4 or 5 hours. I can't put it down once I've started so it's a good job the next round isn't out till Saturday, it'll give me a chance to catch up on the chores that I should have been doing!!!

Looking forward to next round :-)

@kersti ... I find that it was not necessary to tie & cut ends after #Round2 & #Round5 . If colour choices dictate, then it is a different matter. Otherwise, one could continue with the chains in subsequent rounds, since they start at the same point that the previous round ends. Especially for advanced versions.
Just a thought ...
