If you use CTM from the start, you have no ends to bury at the beginning. Also, if you do CTM with 2 shuttles, you will have the ball separate to fill shuttles with when you need. If you work CTM with the ball, you may need to have a second ball to fill shuttles from.

Thz i makes sense now

I don't have a lot of experience with craft tree. How do I print the instructions? I may be missing the icon but didn't see a way to print.

Am challenging myself to tat a "doily" (hopefully) , in size 40 thread. Already had loaded shuttles from way back, so good way to empty them.
Had to make it a 2nd time, due to distractions while watching a tennis match ( fine thread tatting & tele tennis do Not go well together :-( ...

@jojohall you can copy and paste into a text editor and print just what you need or if you hold tight I'll have printable instructions as soon as the two toddlers give me enough time to finish them!

@laceladie go to the first post in this thread to find the link to the pattern information page (alternatively search patterns and type in mystery)

Hey @Dineke, there are quite a few Dutch people on here, and although I'm sure you'll manage just fine, feel free to message me if you need some help.

Edit: Forgot the fancy new earburning feature! Now remedied :D

In comparing the Beginner instructions with the Advanced instructions, I'm wondering if there isn't an error. In the beginner pattern it has a total of 9 rings but the advanced pattern has a total of 10 rings. Why the discrepancy?

Hi Laurie :-)
Both patterns/versions have 10 rings in total. It's just that they have been 'split' in the instructions . In Beginner's pattern, the last or 10th ring is listed separately in order to explain or highlight that it needs to be joined to the 1st/starting ring.

I'm very glad to have come across this! Looking forward to tatting with so many people and seeing what we all come up with. Cheers!

Round two is now available and it's a nice quick one.

Some notes from yesterday - if you're a beginner then please use the beginner instructions, they make the same thing but they're more detailed for you.

Please read the instructions through once before you begin - this is good practice for any craft!

Some people's first round is cupping, that's OK.

Don't forget to share your pictures, we want to see how you're going!

Can I ask for help here.. how can I make the chain of the first round to the start of this first round,... or will the instructions of ring two give me this information? I never made something with more rounds...
I now found another page with diagram and instructions... I see I need to hide the ends.. :D

A question for people - do you prefer to have the files given as one download per round or do you prefer to consolidate each one so that you're downloading a file that contains all rounds to date each time?

Which download option do you prefer

Download each round separately (smaller individual files): 9
Consolidate each time so you're downloading all rounds to date?: 10
